Training Classes
On June 4, 2010, Cascade
Drilling, L.P. hosted a Washington State Rules and Regulations update class.
This is a required class for the renewal of Washington Driller's Licenses.
The morning started out with a Continental Breakfast at 7:30 am, with class starting
promptly at 8:00 am and ending at 10:00 am. William Lum, Washington Department
of Ecology, who conducted the class, held an after class discussion about ground
source heat pump boring installation in Washington for those that were interested.
The class wrapped up around 10:30 am. There were drillers from all over Washington
and Oregon with one attendee traveling all the way from Yuma, AZ. The class
was a great success, and we look forward to putting on more quality events for our
industry.
Thank you to all that attended. We have a short survey for participants.
Please take a few moments to help Cascade Drilling improve our classes and seminars!

New Equipment
Cascade Drilling is continually working to maintain and update our fleet of drill rigs. Our state-of-the-art 2005
model Sonic Drill Rigs continue to impress clients with their safety features, high productivity, and unique capabilities.
In 2006 we added some new Rubber Track CME drill rigs in several locations. The NW Region now fields a powerful, full size
CME 75 drill on a rubber track platform. This new addition has been indispensable in providing access to many shorefront,
wooded, and sloped and rough terrain. Most of our locations are newly equipped with Rubber Track Limited Access Hollow
Stem Auger (CME) Rigs. These impressive rigs have seen use almost daily for drilling inside buildings (min. clearance
approx. 13 feet). They can also be crane-lifted into position, floated on small barges, and maneuvered around railroad
tracks and over bridges (load restrictions considered).
Also in 2006, we added a brand new TH-60 Air Rotary rig. This rig is pictured elsewhere on this website with Mt. Shasta
in the background. It is currently tasked with advancing a series of deep borings going 800 +/- feet into bedrock to install
strain meters and other instrumentation as part of the non-profit UNAVCO Plate Boundary Observatory project.
Our newest additions are the 2007 arrival of Geoprobe rigs to several offices. Our Los Angeles office has acquired a Geoprobe
6620 Limited Access Rubber Track Probe Rig. The Northwest Region, encompassing Portland and Seattle offices, has added two
brand new Geoprobe PC-111 van-style 6620 probes, a new Geoprobe 7730 Rubber Track Probe, and a dolly mounted Geoprobe 420M
probe unit which should make hand augering a thing of the past.
